ABOUT NOAH AND THE CONFERENCE
Who We Are
NOAH is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that offers information and support to people with albinism, their families, and the professionals who work with them. NOAH provides services to the community by sponsoring workshops and conferences on albinism, publishing a quarterly magazine, publishing information bulletins on topics specific to living with albinism, providing a Web site that has information on albinism and provides bulletin boards where people can share experiences. NOAH provides outreach to the community and professionals to spread knowledge about albinism and works to improve attitudes toward those with the condition through television appearances, newspaper articles, photo journalism, and information packets for libraries.
History
Founded in Philadelphia in 1982 from a grass roots beginning, NOAH has grown to have local chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada. NOAH also networks with global groups such as The Albinism Fellowship - UK, American Nystagmus Network, and The Albinism World Alliance.
Mission
NOAH’s mission is to: provide information and support to individuals and families with albinism and related conditions; provide community outreach, enhance public awareness, and educate professionals about these conditions; and encourage research and funding of projects that will improve the diagnosis and management of albinism.
2012 Conference NOAH will be hosting its 14th national conference at the Millennium Hotel St. Louis, St. Louis, MO. 63102 Located in the heart of downtown on the banks of the Mississippi River, Millennium Hotel St. Louis is an excellent conference venue. People with albinism, their families, and professionals who provide services will be in attendance. This year’s conference is expected to draw 800 participants from all over the world. During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to attend several seminars related to albinism, take part in topical discussion groups, and visit our many vendors. Attendees are encouraged to visit our vendors throughout the day on Friday and Saturday.
